New Team Extreme, Blowjob Machine Pics
So, Paul Heller has been all over the Team Extreme website/blog after being contacted by our old friend from BG (seen, looking oh so tough in the fourth picture), and he frequently sends me updates. Here's the latest message Paul sent:
"That's right, I only write when its Sula-bashing time. But sometimes I see something that is just so douchebaggy I need to vent, to share the gayness. Check out these photos from the cult. They're from two albums: one's heading is 'Recession? Who's in a recession?' The other has a caption something like 'Mike and Vanessa's bonus check from their business this November...$20,000 on top of what they make monthly and that's outside of their two full time incomes....a lot of people are going to be blessed with that money!' Among all the Republican, 'don't trust the black guy' crap that these guys post, this is a real gem."

New iTunes Vis
I don't know when it happened...but I accidentally hit Command-T today and the visualization came up. It looks way different than I remember...totally new and updated. Has anyone else seen how much this thing kicks ass? If not I'd take it for a test spin. I was also listening to The Archies - Sugar, Oh Honey Honey. Anyone else seen how much that song kicks ass?

Really, Governor Palin?
If you've already seen this, I apologize for the re-post, but this just struck me as so absurd/unbelievable/ridiculous. People actually want her to be a bigger part of our government?

A New Kind Of Decider?
I saw this on the News Hour last night. It's from a series they're doing profiling different aspects of the presidential candidates. This one is about Obama as a decision maker. It's a little fluffy, but most of the piece comes from interviews with supporters or colleagues.
I was intrigued by the way people in this piece speak about his political pragmatism. It's a quality that hasn't gotten a lot of play in the campaign (cause it's fucking BO-RING!), but one which I think is super important and maybe more than anything represents "real change".
Well worth your 13 minutes. (click on smokin' barry, then on 'streaming video')

Fermilab Pajama Party!
I could only imagine Triumph at this party! And, if I were in town I'd totally be dragging someone there to watch the hilarity. Shein and Rhee I'm looking in your directions...maybe relive some of that late night high school physics? Maybe a CPR high-school-study-group "Where are they now?" story...eh?

Covers
I know there is technical merit to the music these three make, but on the surface (and in practice, if this video is any indication) turning a beautiful Radiohead song into a free-from jazz freakout is not cool. Plus, the pianist is a total penis.
This, however, is nice:
And then, there's this...on which, I make no judgment:

R. Kelly completes his transformation into the Weird Al of R&B. I have no idea if he's serious, or if he realizes how hysterical this actually is. Hats off, R!

I didn't even watch Meet the Press...but it still has a nice ring to it.

Is Google Making Us Stupid?
An article from The Atlantic.
I pretty much felt the emotions described on the last page of the article the whole time I was reading it: "What an old-timer. Newsflash Broseph - The internet isn't going anywhere." Even while I feel his point is true (which is what makes the article interesting in the first place) and it probably does change the way we think...I'm pretty sure evolution will go on. Maybe it'll even lessen everyone's (read: the author's) fear of change.
Also...I found it pretty funny that for the first three to four paragraphs I noticed myself wanting to hyperlink the fuck out of reading the whole article. It wasn't till page 2 of 4 that I really settled in. It was funny to be living in the brain circuitry he's talking about for that first page. Go internet. ADHD my ass.

Worldmapper
I internet a lot about Africa these days and it led me to this cool website, Worldmapper.
There is a good demonstration of how it can be used in that video starting a third of the way through the video (9:30). Basically, it creates inflated world maps based on information such as population, GDP, disease, income, education, etc. In that demo you can see Africa sucking and China blowing up like crazy, but either way, just clicking around the website is fun too. "Thumbnail Index" is a good place to start.
Also, on that TedTalks website, the Dave Eggers TED Prize Wish presentation is really entertaining. What a crackhead Dave Eggers is. It's about writing centers...so Mariz and JK it obviously made me think of you two.

A More Perfect Union
I know this happened a week ago, but now that I've watched it three times I think it's worth posting. I don't really know anything about Obama, but there is no doubt this is an incredibly refreshing speech. If you've only heard about it, to me it was definitely worth the 37 minutes it takes to watch the real thing. Again, I don't really know anything about him...so if for some reason there is some major hatred going his way amongst our crew...just uhm, pretend it's someone else talking. Pretend it's me, with blackface.
Also as a side note, I wanted to show Nance this clip, but she only has Zurich e-mail. Therefore, to get it to her so she could watch at home where YouTube is not blocked, I had to send it to my dad. So, to preempt his bullshit, I pulled up Hannity on Fox News to see his response to the speech and found this gem. Antisemite? When did Jews even get involved in this? Oh wait, it was at 7:20 when Obama defends Israel. That Nazi.

A day in the life...
Was scouring YouTube, thought these were kind of cool:
That road the red car is on is the road I take from my apartment to school everyday! For a cooler view, but not as action packed, there is this video:
My place is at the end of the peninsula on the right. It goes out of view right around 00:59.Edit: Also, I found my apartment online too. I live in the 1st floor/basement (it's one of those half above half below ground floors) of this vacation rental. In the picture with the front view you can see the entrance to MY part of the house; it is a door below the little blue triangle of a roof on the far left side. I'm the "there all the time" person for the rich dude that owns/rents it. Although, now that I've seen the rental I feel so neglected. I wish I had access to all that nice stuff. If the picture was closer you could make out the family of foot long lizards and the pot plant that live in harmony in the garden next to my door. When I saw the place I took the plant as a sign that you guys should rent the shit out of it sometime.
