This made me want to vomit. First, the whole premise is racist of Fox News. But of course they bring on two black pundits to debate the issue, which in their eyes refutes any claims of racism while in reality it makes it all the more apparent they look down on black people. Also, "rappers", in Fox-speak, appears to be synonymous with immoral, lewd, offensive, crude and of course, black. That definition is never disputed. Even more disconcerting is the fact that no one talks about how lame Timbaland's lyrics are and despite the fact he's using profanity, all he's talking about is how awesome his song is (even though it sucks). What's profane about that -- aside from being a lie? It's insane they let people who don't know what they're talking about go on TV like that. They might as well be talking about what life is like in another dimension and drawing pictures of it for us with crayons. If you can't tell, I'm angry.
^One of the best comments I've ever read on a blog.^
The "rapper=big, bad, black man" was by far the most puke-inducing part of the story. And since I'm so immersed in Wu-Tang Culture, as it were, the idea that they are "controversial" is also laughable. Compared to their contemporaries who produced such hits as "Cop Killer", "Fuck Tha Police", or "Gota Let Your Nutz Hang" (for that matter, ANY Geto Boys track), the Wee Ting Clan is nice and clean.
This is the most frustrating part of Fox News, though: Once it leaves Hannity's or O'Reilly's wordhole, it becomes fact to millions of people around the world.
