Whoa Whoa Whoa.. Hold Everything
Forget the title of my previous post. THIS is your Friday catharsis:
NASCAR is now making women's dress shoes.

Friday Catharsis: Pizazz!
I don't think WTF is adequate commentary for this one. I first saw this like a year or two ago and realized today that this song continues to pop into my head at times.. warning: extremely catchy and annoying :)

A 7 Minute Mind-Bender
This is a mind blowing clip of a television program made by Richard Dawkins, an evolutionary biologist who was the guest on the Colbert Report last night. The interview was definitely one of the best I've ever seen on Colbert or the Daily Show. I'll post it when it comes on youtube, but definitely take the 7 minutes for this one.

Comedic-geniuses give insight into the pure hilarity that is Borat
From the EW article:
The audience, which included legendary stand-up comic Garry Shandling, Simpsons writer George Meyer, 40 Year-Old Virgin director Judd Apatow, and Curb Your Enthusiasm star-creator Larry David...Capturing the sense of collective astonishment, Meyer turned to Apatow and said, ''I feel like someone just played me Sgt. Pepper's for the first time.''

bears moment of zen
ESPN.com:
Who will challenge the Bears in the NFC?
Peter King of SI:
1. Chicago (5-0). Another tour de force defensive performance, with Rex Grossman looking like Joe Willie Namath. This team is five miles ahead of everyone else in football right now.
CBSSportsline.com:
Bears: The defense came up big to help get the points. They totally dominated the Bills' offense after the opening drive. Rex Grossman continues to make big throws. Grade: A+
Who will challenge the Bears in the NFC?
Hoge: No one. There isn't a team in the NFC that can give the Bears a legitimate run for their money. The only team that could make it interesting is the Philadelphia Eagles. But with the Eagles appear unable to consistently run the football and rely on the pass. To beat this Bears defense, you need a physical running game, a sharp quarterback and a defense that can maintain pressure. The Eagles have two of those, but the running game is what keeps them from being on that elite level.
Schlereth: No one. There is no team that is a challenge for the Bears' dominant juggernaut. If the Panthers are able to continue their progression and Steve Smith can continue to get healthy, Carolina may be able to compete with them at the end of the season. That's because the Panthers have a physical defensive line, and they can play a smashmouth game. But they need to get Smith to 100 percent for there to be a chance of it happening.

Going Green
I don't know who's voting in November, but I thought you might be interested in hearing about this Green Party candidate for Illinois governor. I had no idea who he was or what he stood for until producing this interview with him, and I gotta say he sounds a helluva lot better of a choice than Rod or Judy. Granted, he probably won't win, but the fact the he's on the ballot at all is pretty big. And in the off chance he actually does receive 5% of the vote, the Green Party becomes an official party in the state for future elections. Now, that could actually mean something.
It's too early (16-0, baby!)
hilarious article in the trib earlier this week. personal fave:
Look, you know the Bears settle too often for Robbie Gould field goals.
(All you know is that Gould has made all 13 of his field-goal attempts this season, that his name is pronounced "Gold" and that you'd let him date your sister, who is married.)

Incredible..
So apparently on O'Reily tonight, Fox repeatedly displayed this graphic while talking about and showing footage of embattled former Republican House disgrace Mark Foley. I haven't heard the audio that goes along with these images, but somehow I have a feeling they weren't talking about the fact that he was a Republican.
Update: Here's a good bit of the segment. No verbal mention of party affiliation.
